Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
The 40_custom file in /etc/grub.d appears to be intended for end users to make modifications. It should be moved out of the standard package file location and into config so that a user's modifications will not be overwritten by a package update.
